Dr Ian Davies is Deputy Head of Marine Scotland Science.  He joined the Marine Laboratory in 1974 as a marine chemist with degrees from Cambridge and Edinburgh Universities.  He developed a strong international reputation in marine pollution science and environmental quality assessment before being instrumental in supporting the establishment of the aquaculture and marine renewables industries in Scottish waters.
